Success, the word that defines our job at the Copa del Rey MAPFRE
Beyond the innate passion that we put on everything we do and on all the events we attend, if we had to choose a single word that defines our job at the 36th edition of the Copa del Rey MAPFRE, that would definitely be 'success'. Success in the previous planning, success in the team work, success in the management and considerable success in the results. It has been a perfect regatta in which our audiovisual services company in Majorca has made its own mark.
Considered the largest regatta in the world (in fact, it is the only one with royal presence), the Copa del Rey MAPFRE has moved from being a purely sports event to an unmissable event of the Majorcan summer. A week in which competition and the best social environment come hand in hand.
This evolution of the competition has given rise to different events parallel to the offshore regattas and which AICO has attended for years as a reference event lightning, sound and organisation company.
A lively video wall
After the team meetings and the first tests at the facilities of Palma's Royal Yacht Club, AICO installed in the club's terrace a stunning video wall that delighted the club's members, sailors and visitors from early morning to late afternoon. The content of the video wall? The best video and photo images provided by our mates working in the press area of the regatta.
Apart from being a place where to enjoy unique images of the offshore competition, this video wall was one of the protagonists of the traditional Enlace Awards ceremony (sponsored by Red Eléctrica de España) and of the tribute paid to the sailors of the Barcelona 92 Olympic Games.
Although our team gives everything for all the events in and outside our frontiers, the fact is that the Sailors Party of the Copa del Rey MAPFRE marks a turning point in our calendar of major events. Our main challenge is to surpass ourselves making the difference and getting a pleasing smile from viewers.
Therefore, not surprisingly, this 2017 we have scored a point with a lightning set-up and a staging unique in the island. The highlight? A live violin concert from the mast of a boat and an amazing mapping show that is still making the news.
A perfect close in Ses Voltes
We were present in the most important regatta of the Mediterranean last Saturday 5th of August in the walled area of Ses Voltes, in Palma. An event honoured with the presence of HM King Felipe VI and which included the Trophy Ceremony of the 36th Copa del Rey Mapfre.
We installed a stunning screen in which exciting videos summarising the competition were projected and which worked as a live connection point with what was happening on stage. It was the perfect close for the competition, with music and a lightning system which kept up with La Seu's beauty, the event's exceptional witness.
